screw press

The screw press is a common equipment used for dewatering solid granular materials. Its structure is complex and precise, and it can efficiently remove moisture from the materials, thereby achieving the purpose of solid-liquid separation. This article will introduce the basic structure and working principle of the screw press.

1. Structural composition

The structure of the screw press includes the following main parts:

Feeding system: Materials enter the screw press through the feed port, and are usually transported to the feed port through conveyor belts, screw conveyors, etc.

Screw propulsion system: The most important component of the screw press is the screw propulsion system. The system consists of a spiral shaft, spiral blades, spiral barrel, etc. The spiral blades are arranged spirally along the spiral axis, pushing the material forward through rotation, and squeezing and separating the material during the advancement process.

Drainage system: The drain system of the screw press is used to separate the liquid in the material. The propelling effect of the spiral blades causes the material to continuously advance in the spiral cylinder, and at the same time, the liquid is squeezed out of the material and discharged through the screen holes of the cylinder.

Pressing area: The pressing area is located in the middle of the screw propulsion system and is the main area where materials are squeezed and dehydrated. The dense arrangement of the spiral blades causes the material to be strongly squeezed in this area, thereby separating the liquid in it.

Discharge system: After being processed by the spiral propulsion system and the drainage system, the solid material is gradually dehydrated and pushed forward to the discharge port. The discharge port is usually set at one end of the screw press to discharge the dehydrated solid materials.

2. Working principle

The working principle of the screw press is based on the extrusion and separation process of materials:

Material feeding: The material enters the screw press through the feeding port and is pushed forward by the spiral blades.

Extrusion separation: Under the action of the screw propulsion system, the material is squeezed in the pressing area, and the liquid in it is separated and discharged through the drainage system.

Solid-liquid separation: In the spiral barrel, the solid particles are gradually dehydrated, and the water is squeezed out of the material, while the solid particles continue to push forward.

Discharge: The dehydrated solid material is finally pushed to the discharge port and discharged from the screw press to complete the entire dehydration process.

3. Application fields

Screw presses are widely used in many fields, such as sludge dewatering, food processing, chemical industry, etc. Its efficient dehydration capacity and reliable working performance make it an important equipment in the field of solid-liquid separation.

In short, the screw press achieves efficient dehydration and solid-liquid separation of materials through its complex and precise structure. It plays an important role in various fields, providing reliable support for production and processing processes.
